In the 13th century, the Thai people established the Sukhothai Kingdom, which marked the beginning of the Thai nation-state. Over the centuries, the country experienced a series of dynastic changes, wars, and territorial expansions. In 1932, Thailand became a constitutional monarchy, which is the form of government that still exists today. Despite being invaded by Japan during World War II and facing various political and social challenges, Thailand has emerged as a vibrant and diverse country that welcomes millions of tourists every year.
